The newest member of our fleet is an amazingly generous donation, ready to go out as soon as a suitable veteran for her has been found.

Here's a bit about NB Sammyb from the wonderful people who gifted her to us:

"We had Sammyb built by R&;D Construction at Ollerton in 1992/93.

She is one of R&D’s Cutwater narrowboat range.

She was craned into the water at Anchor Bridge on the Erewash Canal where she was fitted out.

She has a slight V bottom (not a flat hull) which means, when she comes out of the water for blacking/2 packing, her V bottom needs to be considered so that she doesn’t lean/rock to one side or the other.

She has a Nanni diesel 2.60H/HE engine.

She does not have central heating but does have an efficient wood/smokeless coal burning stove.

She has a cassette toilet – not pumpout.

She has travelled extensively around the West and East Midlands and some

parts of North-West England.

She was named after our first dog, Sammyb."

May 2024 - NB Sammy B has now been officially handed over to us and we are now considering veterans to loan her to. Get in touch if you would like to be considered. Remember - you have to be either homeless or able to prove that you are in immediate danger of becoming so, and we also like you to be under the care of a service charity.
