Jest before Christmas 2024, we were offered another boat but with excitement of getting our charitable status, the festive season and the horrible weather, there hasn't been a chance to get her to HQ or introduce her to you. She's a bit of a departure for us as she is a Cabin Cruiser, not a narrowboat - no rude comments, please!

She is however a grand old lady and will make someone a very nice home. She's clean and dry, very well fitted out and has been loved and cared for all her long life. She's a 26ft Creighton, powered by a 15hp Honda engine, built in - wait for it...1969! You really wouldn't think so to look at her - plainly she has followed the right beauty routine.

The pictures we have are from when she was with her former owner, who generously donated her to us. Most of the soft furnishings have been removed, so we'll be looking to replace those, but other than that, she doesn't - we think - need much doing to her and will make a lovely marina home for a veteran.

She is now  moored at Sawley for our Project manager and Boat Master to look her over and do what needs doing - but one urgent thing she will need is an out-of-water survey. Because of her age, no insurance company will insure her hull without this, and we certainly won't be able to put her on the FVA Fleet Insurance, without the survey, so this is really important, she can't have a veteran aboard until this happens.  We'll let you know how that goes and when we're beginning the process of asking for applications to live on her. In the mean time,  here are some pictures of her interior.
